Sweet and Spicy Chicken

This was really good. It was pretty easy to make and not a lot of prep time either. I love making healthy versions of Chinese food dishes because the take-out meals can be very unhealthy.

  1. 1 lbs. of chicken
  2. 1/2 cup of oil
  4. 1/2 cup of raw honey
  5. 5 tbsp coconut amino
  6. 1 tsp garlic powder
  7. 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  8. 1/2 tsp apple cider vinegar
  9. pinch of salt
  11. 3/4 cups arrowroot flour
  12. 2 eggs + 1 tsp water
  13. OTHER
  14. sesame seeds
  15. green onions
  16. red pepper flakes

  1. Cut the chicken into cubes. Set aside.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the ingredients for the sauce. Set aside.
  3. In another small bowl, beat the egg and water. Set Aside.
  4. In another small bowl, pour the arrowroot flour.
  5. One at a time, dip the chicken cubes into the egg mixture and then the arrowroot flour. Set aside on a plate.
  6. Heat the oil in a large skillet.
  7. Place the chicken in the now heated skillet, until it's browned on all sides.
  8. Carefully, drain most of the oil.
  9. Pour the sauce over the chicken until it's boiling, then bring the heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes. Stir occasionally.
  10. Top with diced green onions, sesame seeds, and red pepper flakes and serve.
